SPRINGFIELD, Mass.
- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) honored the Western New England College women's swimming program as one of its Division III Scholar All-American Teams for the 2009 Fall semester.

The Golden Bears also were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom last spring.

"I'm so proud of my team for keeping the 'student' in student-athlete, and continually excelling in the classroom," said Golden Bears' coach Andrea Daley. "All of the athletes had a great academic semester, particularly junior co-captain Tiffany Santilli, who received a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average."

Santilli, a junior from Soutbridge, Mass., is a Marketing Communications/Advertising major.

Schools must maintain a cumulative 3.0 or better GPA to make the CSCAA Scholar Team.
