Jamison Sacco

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A couple of veteran seniors ended the remarkable season for Western New England College freshman Jamison Sacco (Syracuse, NY) at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship Friday (March 5) at the U.S. Cellular Center.

Competing in the 285-lb. weight class, Allyn Plattner of Luther College (Iowa)pinned Sacco in 5 minutes, 45 seconds in an opening round match. Plattner was the fourth seed in the weight class. 

Joe Murphy of Cortland then defeated Sacco 2-0 in a consolation match.

Sacco captured the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Championship title on February 21 and finished his rookie year with an impressive 25-3 record.
